Accessibility statement
Accessibility statement, as of January 5, 2026
TMU Tourismus Marketing Uckermark GmbH (TMU) is committed to enabling digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve usability for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
In addition, we had our pages reviewed by the State Office for Social Affairs and Provision of the State of Brandenburg, including an audit report in accordance with EN 301 549/WCAG 2.1 as of 2025-05-06. This report is available for review, and we use it as an important basis for further implementation and improvement of our website’s accessibility.
This digital accessibility statement applies to the TMU website published at www.tourismus-uckermark.de.
As a public body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we strive to make our website accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Brandenburg Disability Equality Act (BbgBGG) and the Brandenburg Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BbgBITV) implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102.
In accordance with Section 2 BbgBITV, websites and apps are deemed accessible if they meet the requirements of the harmonised European standard (EN) 301 549 (current version). EN 301 549 refers to the requirements of the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1 (WCAG 2.1), with conformance levels A and AA. These requirements form the core of the testable success criteria.
Efforts to support accessibility
TMU takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Accessibility is a cross-cutting issue at both strategic and operational level and an important part of our work.
- A contact person for accessibility has been appointed.
- Images with text overlays are additionally provided with a hover/text overlay to improve readability and contrast.
- The website is optimised for the most common browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Google Chrome) so that the browsers’ accessibility features can be used (e.g., zoom, read aloud, translation, colour scheme and font size).
- More and more browsers offer built-in read-aloud functions that read the page out loud. In Microsoft Edge, content can be read aloud using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+Shift+U.
Status of compliance with the requirements
This website is currently not compliant with the harmonised European standard (EN) 301 549 (current version). The non-compliances are listed below.
Non-accessible content and functions
In essence, when creating the website we used the technical accessibility standards of the frameworks used, i.e., for WPAstra and Elementor the WCAG guidelines version current at the time. We cannot guarantee accessibility for third-party documents and data.
Despite our efforts, users may experience issues in some cases, and not all services may be fully usable.
Additional requirements:
Documents, and PDF documents in particular, are generally provided in an accessible format. PDF documents on the website are continuously checked for accessibility using the PDF Accessibility Checker. The evaluation to date has shown that some PDF documents are not PDF/UA-compliant. This may exclude documents and PDF files provided to us by third parties as an additional service.
Issues found include, among others:
- no meaningful document titles have been assigned in the document properties
- graphics have no alternative text
- no scope has been defined for column headers
- no tags and metadata have been stored
