Oder-Neisse Cycle Route

One path, two rivers, three countries… From the source of the Neisse in Nová Ves in the Czech Republic to Ahlbeck on Usedom, the route runs 630 kilometers from the Jizera Mountains along the German-Polish border to the Baltic Sea – an eventful journey! Or from Mescherin in the Uckermark region, continue along the Oder to the Polish metropolis of Szczecin or over the West Oder Bridge to nearby Gryfino. The Oder-Neisse Cycle Route follows the course of the Neisse and Oder rivers – at Stolpe, Stützkow, Criewen, Schwedt, Gartz and Mescherin, the route crosses the Uckermark and the Lower Oder Valley National Park.

Tip: While thousands of cranes visit the Lower Oder Valley National Park in the fall, hundreds of rare whooper swans lure visitors with their song in January and February. The crane spends several weeks roosting here in the floodplain of the Oder, offering a spectacle every evening. The whooper swan prepares for spring with its bell-like calls before it sets off on its journey to the breeding grounds in northern Europe.
