Seasons

A little bit of the Uckermark every day

Experience nature as it changes through the seasons

The seasons divide the year into different periods. Spring, summer, autumn and winter repeatedly draw visitors to the Uckermark. Each season differs in terms of weather, vegetation and day length, and each has its own special appeal.

In spring, when everything awakens again after the cold temperatures and the darker time of year. There are still hardly any leaves on the branches, and the sun can warm the ground almost unhindered. In no time at all, the forest turns into a true sea of blossoms of Siberian squill, wood anemones and yellow-flowering lesser celandine. As temperatures rise, people are drawn almost magically to the water. With more than 500 lakes as well as numerous kettle holes, rivers and streams, there are endless opportunities to be active on and by the water. Swimming fun and cooling off included! After the long, balmy summer evenings, autumn brings even more colour back to the wide landscape. Restaurateurs now offer a wide selection of regional and seasonal delicacies from their kitchens. As the days grow shorter again, winter announces itself over the course of the year with cooler weather and, with a bit of luck, a little snow and frozen lakes. It is just the right time to enjoy the peace and seclusion of the region again.
