Hotel Old Town Schwedt

Located in the heart of the old town of Schwedt, the hotel with 24 rooms and a large garden was built in 1799 as a tobacco factory and looks back on an eventful history.

From 1870 it was used as a residential house, later as a Catholic children’s home, from 2001 to 2007 the house was empty, before the conversion into a hotel began. Wherever possible, the old was preserved.

The hotel is a good starting point for visitors to the Lower Oder Valley National Park. Bike travelers on the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path are welcome – should the bike break down on the stage to Schwedt, a pick-up service is even offered. In the in-house restaurant, the BrauWerk Schwedt, beer is brewed in-house in different varieties. You can enjoy it on the quiet and green terrace. Part of the food offered comes from the region.

The hotel is certified as a partner business of the Lower Oder Valley National Park.

Our operation is climate-friendly because we

  • obtain some of our products for the restaurant or the breakfast buffet from regional producers, e.g. bakery products, asparagus and eggs
  • purchase the majority of beverages in the region (water, juices, home-brewed beer)
  • are equipped with an efficient combined heat and power plant
  • have paid attention to better use of daylight when redesigning the rooms
  • offer our guests exclusively eco-cosmetic products in the rooms
